ENHANCE YOUR GARDEN: Place Outsunny's backyard wood bridge over a small stream or garden walkway and add a decorative touch to your outdoor surroundings.
COMPLEMENTARY BEAUTY: The elegant arched garden bridge frame adds an instant and classic charm with its traditionally designed walkway.
SECURITY DESIGN: There are curved side rails with three posts on each side of the bridge kit for added security and convenience. This means the footbridge is as secured as it is beautiful.
SOLID CONSTRUCTION: The wood of this bridge has a natural finish that is weather-resistant to prevent rot, cracking, and splitting.
STRONG WEIGHT CAPACITY: The durable fir wood construction of this garden bridge is designed to hold up to 400 pounds of weight.
We've been working since last year on redesigning our backyard landscape with an Asian theme. I had my eye on this little bridge and finally got it late Spring. I decided to paint it in red and apply protection layers for the sun/rain/snow. While some pieces of the wood are not exactly perfect (that's why the 4 stars on value), you can put some putty here and there to fix it. Sand it, paint it and it will look great, naturally as this is for decoration we are not stepping on it, but I feel it could hold some weight based the some reinforcements that I noticed. I do recommend it, just be aware that you'll have to put some extra attention to protect it with some paint/varnish.At the end of the directions, is indicated to tighten nuts, but not at the beginning. The very beginning should indicate this.Tools needed only show a Phillips screwdriver, you actually need a drill to pre-drill for screws so you don't split the wood, a 14 mm socket (2 wrenches or a rachet and a wrench) to tighten the nuts on the bolts, and a mallet to pound the rails into the posts. Also they should mention the screw holes, where you screw in the remaining screws, should all be facing outwards for aesthetic reasons. By the time I finished, I was somewhat annoyed with the lack of directions, tools and the sun beating on me, that I left one railing actually flipped the opposite way, but I'm sure no one will notice unless they are OCD,.Ok so I wanted to give some adviceI’m not skilled in putting things together and I was very disappointed when I opened the box, tons of wooden pieces and bolts and screws but it was actually easy. Does take about 15-20 minutes but that’s mainly to get it unwrapped lol. It’s a beautiful bridge but it does need to be sealed so I will be going to Lowe’s cause it’s leaking pine sap all over and I live in Massachusetts where we see all the elements when it comes to weather. Without sealant I only see this lasting a year for the wood is very soft. I’m also 6’3 and 220 lbs and it’s very sturdy. Mine is going over a brook in my front yard. You will not be able to get a lawn mower over this, it’s to narrow with the post. *******UPDATE: went to Lowe’s with a piece of the bridge to look for stain and sealant, was given the advice that the wood was clearly freshly cut and to wait 6 months to a year before staining or sealing it.It is made really nice and was a good priceExcellent quality at an affordable price.Very easy to assemble, sturdy enough for its purposeBe realistic about about this bridge and it won't disappoint you. It's great for decoration and occasional foot use but don't expect to roll a wheelbarrow full of rock over it! The design is pleasing and the lumber cuts are very good. It is easy and quick to assemble. We put 2 coats of tinted water sealant on before assembly just for a little UV protection and used exterior glue on the lap joints for some additional strength and it seems very solid as assembled. I can scamper my 190 pounds over it with no creaking! All in all we are very satisfied with our purchase.I am very happy with it. I painted Redwood Stain for color to match my fence in the backyard. I'm still working on the landscaping. This will be an actual pathway that leads to the side yard when finished. It is super strong. It should last a few decades or more after my husband treated it with Primer, Stain, and Clear Coat. The only unexpected part was that I needed to spend time drilling out the precut but not big enough holes where rails needed to be inserted. No problem, just took extra time.
