A fine book for the beginner, it will also stimulate old hands.-Horticulture Magazine Exploring all aspects of garden design, this book shows how to make a garden that is harmonious and workable.
Like most gardeners who aren't professionally trained but have vast or less experience this book is a great refresher on landscape design concepts and practical relatable advice. Most gardeners have enough experience from magazines, books and the internet with knowledge that gets them by but this book is a great refresher and gives human experiences we can all relate to. There are limited photos so keep in mind this is not an illustration book- just advice. Not only is Barbara a gardener, teacher and designer she is also a contributing editor of a Fine Gardening magazine she is an excellent compassionate relatable gardener with welcoming prose. She's gifted that way. I find her writing refreshing, knowledgeable, relatable and fun to read. This is my second book by Barbara Blossom Ashmun. The book I just read was " Garden Retreats".
